Investing in Workplace Wellbeing
The Foundation of a Thriving Organisation
A truly healthy organisation begins with healthy people. Supported, empowered, and self-aware individuals who not only take responsibility for their own wellbeing but who also feel their employer genuinely cares about them.
Workplace wellbeing isn’t just a moral imperative, it’s a strategic investment. Each year, 13.7 million workdays are lost in the UK due to work-related stress, anxiety, and depression, costing businesses around £35 billion. According to the Business Health Institute, two-thirds of employees have experienced burnout, while research by the NCBI shows that 75%–90% of human disease is linked to chronic stress activation. These statistics are a sobering reminder that wellbeing is not a “nice to have” but an essential for the health and wealth of every business.
The Return on Investing in People
When organisations invest in wellbeing, the benefits ripple across every level. Deloitte’s 2020 UK report revealed that for every £1 invested in employee wellbeing, businesses see an average return of £5 in reduced absence and increased productivity. But beyond the numbers, the real return is seen in motivated, creative, and resilient teams of people who feel safe, valued, and inspired to give their best.
As the Centre for Mental Health put it:
“Those employers that ignore the issue, or who undermine the mental health of their staff, risk not only the health of the people who work for them but the wealth of their business and the health of the economy as a whole.”
Creating Cultures of Compassion and Resilience
At Loyterton Sanctuary, we believe workplace wellbeing starts with awareness and is sustained through compassion, empowerment and trust. We have teamed up with Carli Thorpe, a trauma-informed coach, hypnotherapist and trainer, to offer a range of corporate wellbeing workshops and retreats designed to help organisations address chronic stress, burnout, and mental health challenges in a holistic, trauma-informed way.
Each session is tailored to your organisation’s needs, integrating evidence-based education with embodied practices that empower and inspire employees to take charge of their own wellbeing. The aim is to foster a culture where compassion, empathy, and mutual support become the foundation of workplace life which benefits individuals and the organisation as a whole.
What We Offer
We offer a range of half-day, one-day, and two-day workshops and retreats, each designed to meet your specific wellbeing goals. Topics include:
- Chronic Stress Management and Resilience Building – Techniques for recognising, managing, and recovering from chronic stress.
- Burnout Prevention and Recovery – Understanding the root causes of burnout and building sustainable self-care practices.
- Nervous System Regulation for Calm and Focus – Practical mind-body tools for resilience, presence, and emotional balance.
- Mental Health Awareness – Supporting a workplace that understands anxiety, depression, and early intervention.
- Holistic Pain Management through Pilates – Building body awareness, reducing musculoskeletal pain, and enhancing mental clarity.
For individuals who need deeper support, one-to-one coaching is also available and provides a trauma-informed, personalised space to build resilience, set boundaries, and sustain wellbeing. This is ideal both as a preventative measure or during a return-to-work transition.
The Ripple Effect of Wellbeing
When employees feel empowered, understood, and supported, they bring their best selves to work. The result is a more connected, motivated, and resilient workforce that can navigate challenges with clarity and compassion.
Organisations that prioritise wellbeing often see:
- Reduced stress and absenteeism
- Increased engagement and productivity
- Stronger team cohesion and trust
- Sustainable, purpose-driven performance

Imagine the Perfect Farewell!
Why choosing the right venue is the heart of a rruly unique Celebration of Life.
Author: Marc Lemezma, Funeral Celebrant
Imagine the perfect setting to say good-bye.
Not a functional, time-limited room, but a place that feels personal and dignified. Imagine holding a celebration of life in amazing, tranquil grounds, or perhaps a small, intimate service inside a beautiful house.
As a funeral celebrant, I work with families to create ceremonies that are authentic and personal. For many years, the options for a farewell have been limited, often confined to a 30-minute slot at a local crematorium or a traditional church service. While perfect for some, this rigid structure isn’t always the right fit.
This is where we now have the opportunity to create a truly unique celebration of life, offering a meaningful and flexible alternative.
So, what is this kind of celebration?
It’s an event created without the usual constraints. It’s an opportunity to create a farewell that is 100% true to the person you’ve lost, reflecting their unique life, character, and story.
It often takes place after a direct or private cremation, giving you the time to plan an event without rushing, at a time and date that works for everyone. Sometimes families elect to have the coffin present during the service, which the later leaves the venue for a private cremation with no fuss.
But the single most important element that transforms a good-bye is the place.
You are not limited to a crematorium chapel. This event can be held anywhere: a hotel, a village hall, or even at home. However, an incredible venue like Loyerton Sanctuary is precisely the kind of setting that allows a personal farewell to become something truly special.
The freedom of a dedicated, beautiful venue changes everything.
You are not limited by time. Instead of a 30-minute slot, you can have the space for a whole morning, afternoon or the whole day. This allows me to help you craft a personal ceremony that isn’t rushed, one that can flow naturally into a reception with food, drinks, and shared stories.
You have complete creative control. A venue like Loyerton Sanctuary is a canvas for you to paint a true picture of your loved one’s life. You can fill the space with their favourite music (be it a live band or a curated playlist), display their art, hobbies, or photographs, and create an atmosphere that feels authentic to them.
It provides comfort and dignity. A tranquil, beautiful setting provides a comforting and dignified space for guests to gather, reflect, and celebrate. It moves the day away from a feeling of obligation and towards a genuine, shared experience.
My role as your celebrant is to be your creative guide. I work with you to plan, script, and lead the ceremony.
I help you weave in the music, readings, and personal tributes. Crucially, I coordinate with the team at the venue, ensuring the entire event, from the formal ceremony to the moment refreshments are served, is a flawless and fitting tribute.
Creating a unique celebration gives you permission to do things differently, to honour the person you’ve lost in a way that feels right.
Choosing an incredible venue like Loyerton Sanctuary provides the time, the space, and the beautiful setting to do that life justice.
